Passive adapters are available that convert a four-pin Molex connector to a SATA power connector, providing the 5V and 12V lines available on the Molex connector, but not 3.3V. I tried to connect it to USB port but it behaved as before, making that noise and being not recognized by the OS. Home edition is obviously limited a lil compared to professional.
