Seagate 1.5TB Drives & RAID 6 - Reliable?
I haven't reviewed against older data, but I'm pretty sure 129% and 222% failure rates are impossible in this context. Most Reliable Hard Drive 2016
The only thing keeping vw down is after 100,000 miles you have to replace the timing belt, which in this country will run between 500-1000$ which will than bring the car The raid 6 volume set initialized after 52hrs. It has more storage space than the Seagate Backup Plus Desktop for roughly the same price per terabyte, but its software isn’t as straightforward or useful as the Seagate’s. I've had two 1TB and one 2TB western digital drives fail.
They’re generally cheaper per terabyte than smaller portable models, and the larger platters and required AC power supplies translate into faster speeds and more capacity. The large data files make for large data sets to work on, but if you give it a try, please let us know if you find anything interesting. I buried two drives and had headache with third one. With huge arrays with 20+ drive arrays the loss space is minimal. Got some weird linux-y error box. You use WD Reds for the WD almost exclusively, but you use Seagate LP (aka green) and desktop drives for all the seagate drives.
