Slave Hard Drive Wont Show Up
my netbook says "please reboot or choose proper disk drive" and then i remove my harddrive on it to recover my files, then i connected it on my desktop via ide/sata You should also see your D drive right below, a RIGHT click of the mouse in it`s field will show a list of possible commands. It did not report any bad sector. Twenty years experience tells me the drive is readable but needs to be low leveled or (safer) replaced BUT I'd like the date on it if I can get it. If the drive is not in an enclosure (external hard drive) then your best bet is going to be to call a data recovery company like DTI Data Recovery. Hard Drive Not Showing Up In Disk Management
Having run disk management I can see the drive there. I tried to do a restore using system disaster recovery at start up but it freezes on starting disaster recovery. where do I go from here; I was thinking trying a new hdd (price is about $70) and then install the recovery disks if the HDD works OK. I think it might be a BIOS problem, but I'm not sure. i went to bios mode to see the order of the booting.and its all in order. February 11, 2011 Wessam S Hi,can you help me with this issue.. If all else fails pull the drive from the current enclosure and install in a new one.
