It hasn't affected my f drive just the C. I switched off the player, removed the drive and connected to my machine. Based on your past experiences, do you think it's a wonky power supply or mobo's starting to give? David Mohyla March 6, 2013 4:22 pm Reply # Hi, I would think that you are booting slower because the Operating System is looking at another device and confirming it is I know that I used this disk in the past in a RAID (both in different ones), but this is long time ago and the disks working in this setup since Then windows will read it fine, then on a power off same thing blue screen again. check over here Sometimes there is info on the drive that the recovery disks look for when installing.
January 4, 2013 Tina I have an Hp touchsmart and the hard drive went out. I run any applications and i can see the files (jpg, mp3, avi, mpeg..etc) but i can recover all files with one software.. But what is a USB dongle?. Seatools did a long generic on the drive and it passed, HOWEVER when I do BOOT DRIVE PROPERTIES it shows the HDD in my computer NOT the external Seagate.
Slaving a hard drive is usually done primarily for data recovery, an example we see a lot is a hard drive is recognized in the BIOS, but not by Windows. It has no oeprating system just ALL my personal files and stuff. Thanks! The HDD spins (that means power is clearly working), but the BIOS just doesn't pick it up.
I installed this drive back into my dell deskptop and popped in my XP CD to see if I can install the OS. But nothing happens, the keyboard is not recognized. Take it to your local electronics shop and they'll give you a replacement (Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc….). So i thought, lets install the drives that come in the cd with the MOBO right ?
Unfortunately, hard drives are a commodity and need to be treated as such.
