When Turning Power On Fans Start But Then Fade -- Do I Need To Replace PSU?


I turned it on and instead of green light I got a solid orange light and the PC's Fan started to go and continue to keep going like a jet engine After searching everywhere for answers I'm coming to the conclusion it may be the Power Supply on its way out. I think it was a driver issue. 3rd, I've seen a boot slow down with a bad cd-dvd rom that had media in the drive. I'm just interested in knowing what the problem was/is. What could possibly be the problem? I did not and do not receommend touching anything inside at this stage of troubleshooting, unless you are a well insulated superhero.

And how can I examine my PSU? so I've read most of this site and as an 20 year PC tech I learned a few new tricks on here! Also tried a new cmos battery - but still have the orange flashing light!!!
