EDIT:I think my situation is a little too complicated,so I'll put it in a step by step manner.
This gets solved when i change the audio playback setting to "ALSA output" or "Auto detect" setting under "Administration > Sound" menu. but there's no difference. My subwoofer is playing on my right rear speakers and my left rear speakers are playing my right rear speakers.But left rear is also playing left rear. I'm clueless as to what the problem may be. It did this a couple times and apparently fixed it, so maybe it just screwed it up and 5.1 settings isn't on my computer.
I'd tried hard to fiddle with my plug to the sub (but not the outlet). I have all my computer stuff in the box before the move. It might not seem like a big deal, but it's no fun spending $70 on something only for it not to work properly. mine is damaged i like to fix it ...
