It's free though and certainly isn't the worst anti-virus suite you could have. I adjusted the dip switches as well so that the multiper is set at 12.5 which I believe is correct. It was just working a little while ago and I have already tried everything on the companys website and everything in the manual so I hope someone here can help me. I recommend Soyo whenever I can. While it's not a patch on my dedicated AV equipment, it's perfect for the job it does. The CMOS reset jumper and I became intimately acquainted, as nearly every attempt to crank the multiplier down and the bus speed up (to 133) resulted in a failure to POST.

  • This voltage has to be measured against the Chassis of the computer..
  • While the stick is quite happy all the way up to 166+, it needs 2.7+ to do so.

When I turn on the PC, all I get is a continuous series of long beeps -- no short ones. Comparing to a score of 6563 on the MSI KT266A board we have here in the labs, we can see the KT266 underperforming compared to other chipsets. Some experimentation revealed that as long as I kept the bus speed at 100MHz, everything worked properly. Any other advice is welcome!

The board I replaced was an AMD 761 motherboard I’ve had for about six months. It wouldn't be surprising if it's only a matter of putting them into the right position. It also speaks to you. Thanks.

Using a normal heatsink with the board should be fine and it may possibly be beneficial to have such a layout since I imagine in many ATX cases, it will bring No video. Prepare an empty bootable disk. Viewed as a taster for things to come, the Dragon doesn't disappoint.

Anyway I would suggest this board to anyone.

Soyo motherboard problems (#1) Compatible with Windows 9x/Me and Windows 2000, it's a decent anti-virus suite.

I can’t really tell if the audio is better than the Sound Blaster Live I have but I wish I had a piece of audio equipment that was optical to connect Even Asus, a company usually associated with stability and solidness while not being particularly exciting even has the odd coloured PCB among its products, the CUSL2 Black Pearl and it's current Not only that the Soyo runs about 30 deg cooler. Check This Out Then go into the CMOS and unnder the Health section you can disable the FCO option.

Because the bus speed was set via jumper and thus "hard-coded", that split-second initialization would take place on a 133MHz bus with a 10X multiplier, or 1333MHz. I either have incompatible DDR SDRAM or a bad Soyo Dragon + Mobo. While this is a shameless plug for them, I really do recommend them for case modding parts. Secondly, there seems to be a glaring omission from the AWARD BIOS on the Dragon. The on-board LAN seems faster than the PCI NIC I had on my old motherboard. After AWDFLASH has finished upgrading your BIOS, you should restart the system in order for the new BIOS revision to take effect.

Any other advice is welcome! tried again but took out vid card and added DDR…same thing4. No text appears hard drives don't spin up. Add to this the inability to push the board past 148MHz and even then, without any USB support means for me at least, the Soyo is usable only at default speeds.

Choose 'Load SETUP Defaults' and press . Ghost retails for a fair price and adds significant value to the Dragon bundle. Again, for normal use, this isn't a problem but overclockers usually find that the memory voltage needs to be increased slightly from the default of 2.5V to achieve the higher memory When I adjust it to 100mhz it boots fine but it reads the processor as 1250mhz.

Once this happened, I would have to clear the CMOS to get the board to come back. The latest trend from board manufacturers is to colour the PCB's used in their components like motherboards and graphics cards. They are backed up to .GHO image files and you can set varying levels of compression. Now in BIOS with the jumper set to 100mhz and the multiplier at 12.5 I can change the FSB settings and get it to about 115mhz before the computer will not
