I have used one that bright on a cb 16x9 rear projection for several years now.The other difference between projectors would be the 3LCD technology versus the single chip DLP technology. The projector is floor based (could be ceiling based but that would be hard in this application) and short throw, so the angle of incident of the light is inherently limited. I ended up using 10' legs as well. I don't think feet are absolutely necessary. I own both styles and I can see the pluses of both, to me I think the 3x systems are the superior technology in theory but to many the difference is Excludes demo units.
