Graphics weren't appearing on webpages. i removed the heatsink, fan, and installed a zalman heatpipe ZM80D-Hp cooler. wz1Sep 3, 2004, 04:54 PMDisplay corruption in Windows after 3 months of operation with a Sapphire 9600XT 128 meg. I RMA’d the 9700 pro and received a 9800 pro in return. It doesn't matter. - Not OS related. - The ram on the gfx card needs to be flushed out somehow. There's the outside chance apossible video driver update may help if driver related. is it not manufacturer specific?
i have these corraptions at wxp start (and automatic reboot) just with newer cats (up from 4.6,below no problem). If the problem exhibits itself by testing the video card in question on another computer, then the card is defective. I don't think the demo level mode is going to work but I haven't tried it with a corrupt card.
- NosferatuDec 21, 2004, 02:50 AMI was getting some display corruption during POST on my 9800se at random.

- i have the exact same problem.
- It certainly appears a video problem.
- started a few days ago (btw, anybody notice that this seems to be happening alot just...
- After uninstalling the drivers, the glitches are gone, until windows automatically installs some drivers.
- took out all the hardware to the bare essentials.
- i'm running: p4 3.0 HT 1 gb corsair ddr asus pc400-e mobo (or something like that, too lazy to check exact model number) this is really odd.
Hope this helps, i remeber how pissed I was. first, take the case of and let the pc cool down (20 minutes or so). Runs great though not really impressed with the TV picture quality. I've tried ATI 4.7, 4.11, and Omegas.
Will fill out the RMA this evening. going back to nvidia with the 6800GT or U depending how cheap i can get either one. take this opportunity to clean out the case with a can-o-air make sure you hit all of the fans. But there are other threads about that...
http://www.myfrag.net/problem.jpg I started getting this about last week, at which point my radeon was running on 4.9. Here is what it looks like in DoD/CS and Halo. On reboot, windows is corrupted by many horizontal white lines, a cold reboot will fix it. Heat alone can overtime cause a problem.
So your xxC/93F degree temp on your mb is normal. http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/ati-radeon-9800-pro-display-driver-problem-please-help-me.55223/ like within the past few months? According to Sapphire tech support, they will not accept returned cards that have foreign heatsinks. http://hcsprogramming.com/radeon-9800/radeon-9800.php I've tried ATI 4.7, 4.11, and Omegas. I called ATI and they sent me another after a week this time and it STILL does the same thing!!! Further, as video temp reading, the sensor isn't available if not plugged-in to the mtrbd.
befor i was running with zalmann with no problem for almost 2 years. My Box is a P4 2Ghz "Microstar" box, known in Germany as an Aldi PC, (dirt cheap) The Motherboard is an MSI-6513, (latest BIOS) it's got 1Gb PC2100 RAM, an turned the computer off and put the sound card back in. have a peek here Further, some driver s/w has caused similar problems and only a driver update corrects this if at all, as physical systems vary.
Track this discussion and email me when there are updates If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and According to Sapphire tech support, I have a manufacturer's 2 year warranty on my 9800pro, (OEM, black PCB). the ffects are the lag time of display of reduced ram management unable to keep-up. Jul 29, 2006 #3 Sharkfood TS Guru Posts: 1,019 I had similar issues with an AIW 9700 Pro (same chip, just different clock speed) with the more recent Catalyst drivers (6.x). sound cards, network card, additional HDD etc…).Ensure that they system has adequate power, below are the requirements for the card for a standard system configuration. In both cases I have not seen any relation to the drivers being used (I'm currently on catalyst 4.8s).

I installed new video drivers because I thought it might help. I don't know if that was the problem all along or what. Corruption everywhere, seems to go away after surfing a while with IE, (though not Firefox) and once it's on, (after you start a game) it's there till you reboot. The Win98 system doesn't seem to want to load the ATI drivers. The XP system with the GeForce2 has no artifacts but display stinks with stock drivers. Will try to get both up
Look in any major hardware discussion board and someone has this exact problem. Replace the cable with new one and note if the problem persists.Try moving the cable back and forth near both connectors. I spent a couple of hours last night on my PC, I haven't run any benchmark stuff yet but everything seems to to be running OK!!! Then I've ordered some Vantec memory heat sinks and a new GPU fan from overclockers.co.uk (since they shaft you for import duty in Germany if you ship from the states, UK's
The AIW 9700 Pro here would boot the Windows Logo with little white boxes all over, then a corrupted logon. everything worked well (tried Battlefield 'nam and CS Source Beta).
