I took it back to a music shop to test, and it turns out that its the USB port I was putting my Saffire into. I have looked at the device manager under USB controllers and there are four USB controllers listed which are as follows: Intel 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 enhanced host controller 24CDIntel 82801DB/DBM USB I've just had this happen to my VGN-AW190 system (Sony's top-of-the-line laptop).
- The bad news is, as is logically fathomable, It's purely down to Windows losing it's mind (again).1st) USB - ALWAYS continues working on other installations/operating systems/even in DOS :-o2nd) It's not
- It means the entire laptop has to be disassembled, the damaged USB port has to be desoldered and replaced with a new one.
- When things wrong on mine, it takes me 1minute,45seconds to be up & running again - and aint that just what we 'all' want eh?Good Luck to anybody with the problem.And

The keyboard now only seems to work on the 1st right hand side USB port, or the single left one.
I don't want to disassemble and taking a chance in breaking something if there is an alternate solution. Discovered that pressing f2 takes me into bios but there is nothing there which enables me to look at cmos settings. It has 4 USB ports, presumable USB 2.0, configuration; 1xUSB host1 on the left of the laptop, and 3xUSB on host 2 at the right of the laptop. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 for each USB Root Hub. Use the steps (below) to resolve this issue. Right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties.

Wird geladen... When I took it to Sony support, they replaced the motherboard and now it works. Now I do music production, so I have a number of peripherals I NEED to use.
