but starting to anoyng me, when ati drivers also have been installed. This is the only possible thing that could have went wrong? Yes the regional settings matter and yes there is a problem with composite signals.
if this didn't solved you, maybe: heat factor (bye a better cooler or fans), maybe bad drivers..
