SLI And Crossfire Issues
It was more for those trying to keep up with technology's pace without destroying the pocketbook. Great single card performance, stunning SLI performance. Ultimate-mega-detail mode requires 8 gigs. 27/02/2015 at 12:31 Howard says: Nope. You could even have your main monitor on a powerful card and the secondary one on a lesser. his comment is here
Blasphemy. permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]croy_00 -3 points-2 points-1 points 2 years ago(2 children) You're saying that adding a second card will push three times the pixels at twice the framerate? I have a Panasonic 4k TV (with DisplayPort) and its the only way to get decent 4k performance. I guess airflow would be important for SLI to keep things cool. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-crossfire-nvidia-sli-multi-gpu,2678.html
Crossfire Vs Sli Which Is Better
Rest of games I play I've experienced no issue with SLI at all. permalinkembedsavegive gold[–]brynm 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago(0 children)Never had any noticeable issues. I do not regret spending the extra money to go SLI and sometimes I would recommend going SLI if you have the correct set up because sometimes it can be better
I do have a well ventilated case though. permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]harpuajim25 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago(1 child)http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/geforce-gtx-970-sli-review,1.html http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_970_SLI/ http://www.hardwareluxx.de/index.php/artikel/hardware/grafikkarten/32776-geforce-gtx-980-und-gtx-970-im-sli-test.html (You'll have to translate this one assuming you don't speak German) permalinkembedsavegive gold[–]Alpexx99[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago(0 children)Thanks for the Would you spend $340 or $600 for the same performance? I've had dual GPU's before (HD4890s) and they were more trouble than they were worth. Amd Crossfire Bridge ie I wanted to play Shadow of Mordor on ultra, but that requires 6bg of video memory. 6GB!!! But now that I've remembered about the noise I may as well go for a 980. I just lowered dropped shadow quality down low.
- If you only play a few games or incline only towards the biggest new releases, you're cutting down the odds of having problems dramatically.
- permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]Trieclipse 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago(1 child)The GTX 970 is an unusually well-performing card for it's price point.
- I haven't noticed any problems in the other games that I play.
- With the GTX 970, you can not only turn it into a GTX 980, but you can do it for 62.5% of the price.
- So if you have 1 GPU, that is exactly 1.
- Rumour has it graphicsy bits of that DirectX 12 thing that arrives with Windows 10 will allow for asynchronous multi-GPU (graphics processing unit).
- I couldnt find any 970 tri-SLI data.
- A single, powerful card may not be the best price/performance card.

For example, 2x 270x were on par with a 290x. I also get screen tearing in Bioshock infinite. Do you have any idea how much hotter the top one runs than bottom one, is it really a problem? Crossfire Cable I also like how my card gets significantly better at the end of the year with big driver updates like Catalyst Omega and now Crimson.

Beyond they random launch/beta title that doesn't have sli supported yet (always remedied later on), there is very little issues with SLI these days. The benefits drop off pretty dramatically beyond two chips. Surely not 7xx or 9xx series. Probably not often at all if the context is well-established, mainstream game titles and graphics tech. It seems like support falls entirely on AMD and I am woefully disappointed with their efforts.I'd only disagree with the driver support.
